On the trail with the Forestry Commission
Make an appointment with a forest ranger or heath guide for a hiking or biking tour. Discover the Strabrechtse heath, the largest contiguous heath in Brabant, or the vast Leenderbos with its fens and stream valleys. There are several varied hiking trails. The Vennenroute (5 km), the Herderspad (3 km) and the Rulse Laarzenpad (6 km) start at Natuurpoort De Plaetse in Heeze.

Gnome Trail
At Heidecafé de Strabrechtse Heide at De Plaetse in Heeze a knapsack filled with goodies will be waiting for you. With a pointed hat on and your cheeks painted red, you and your parents walk a route of 500 to 1500 meters. Great for children's parties and family outings. Reservations are not required.

Weekly market Heeze
Every Thursday morning there is weekly market in Heeze on the town hall square at Jan Deckerstraat 2 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.
Present are stalls for
- Fruit and vegetables
- Cheese products
- Het Stoepje bakery, bread products and cookies
- Fish stall
- Cut flowers from Flowers Only - Vrösch
Heeze Castle
Castle Heeze-Leende is, as one of the few castles in the Netherlands, still inhabited.
The history of the castle Everyone knows of course the castle in Heeze but not everyone is aware of its history. Before the formation of the municipalities as we know them today, the Heerlijkheid Heeze, Leende and Zesgehuchten was the administrative center. The area was governed by the lord of the castle and justice was even administered there. A remnant of this is the existing prison within the castle. The area that was governed ran from the Achelse kluis to the edge of what is now Eindhoven (Stratum). It also included large parts of Sterksel and the Strabrechtse Heide.
Napoleon abolished this form of government and established municipalities on May 14, 1810. The castle and especially the medieval part is the oldest building in Heeze-Leende and dates back to the 13th century. Later a castle was built in front of it under the architecture of master builder Post. This created two courtyards, which is quite unique. Also unique is the interior, partly from 1795, with its beautiful original wallpaper and magnificent gobelins. Another important part of the estate is certainly the environment that has developed around the castle over the centuries. The castle and its surroundings are inseparable.

Also to the children
Children up to 3 years can eat for free and for children from 4 to 11 years we charge 2,- per year of life.
There is a children's area for children up to and including 11 years so they certainly won't be bored. This includes a PlayStation, a large adventure ball pit for the little ones and a real TikTok wall.
Sabero
In 2001 we, Sonja and Nico Boreas, started restaurant Boreas in Heeze. This restaurant had been awarded two Michelin stars until its closure. We sold restaurant Boreas in 2018 to open a new (smaller) restaurant called restaurant Sabero. Sabero is an anagram of our last name Boreas. This eatery was also immediately awarded two Michelin stars.
As of March 2023 we closed restaurant Sabero in Roermond and started a small living room restaurant in Leende.
We would like to welcome you to our living room restaurant in Leende. We believe that a visit to Sabero is suitable for every occasion, for a luxury dinner, cozy lunch or business meeting.
Cafe De Hospes
Café de Hospes is located in the small rural Brabant village of Leenderstrijp (south-east of Eindhoven). The village still has dozens of old monumental long-gabled farms with thatched and straw roofs . most of which have a rich history, Leenderstrijp was known far into Europe for its falconers (peregrine falcons). inside to 80 seats is also a resting place for cyclists and walkers with a large terrace (130 seats) located on various bicycle, walking routes both signposted and described routes.
